Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” took the number three spot. The epic made $5.2 million across 3,755 theaters on Friday. The film has now reached a total gross of $251.5 million.
“Les Miserables” and “Parental Guidance” took the number four and five spots on Friday, respectively. The film adaptation of “Les Miserables” made $4.9 million across 2,904 theaters. To date, the film has grossed $92.3 million. Bette Midler’s “Parental Guidance” brought in $3.1 million for a total of $45.7 million.
