Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Design Flaw: Inserting your S Pen the wrong way will destroy your phone!

Note5

Before the Samsung Galaxy Note5, previous Note models were designed to prevent you from inserting the S Pen the wrong way with the top of the Pen going into its housing first. But with the Galaxy Note5, Samsung created a spring-based method to help users eject the pen out of the phablet. And with this new technology, Samsung disabled the safety mechanism that prevented the S Pen from being inserted backwards.

The big problem for Galaxy Note5 users is that should they accidentally insert their S Pen backwards, it could permanently damage the phone. Either the S Pen gets stuck inside the device forever, or the spring release technology is damaged and can never be used again. Either way, your new pride and joy is broken, and the S Pen detection feature won’t work anymore.

If you own the Samsung Galaxy Note5, let this be a warning; you need to make sure that the S Pen is replaced the right way. More importantly, you need to watch those you lend your phone to lest they replace the S Pen incorrectly. And that certainly includes your kids, who might not realize what they are doing when they try to put the S Pen back into its home.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus & iPhone 6 Plus: Which one is Secretly Waterproof?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, are the latest smartphones revealed couple of days ago at the Samsung Unpacked Event 2015. The main difference between the Note 4 and the Note 5 is the non removable back, which means no Extra Storage also and a smaller battery.

The S6 Edge Plus, which is the successor of the S6 Edge which doesn’t have a removable back already, gained a few extra inches and now has a 5.7 inches screen, like the new Note 5.

Since both of these new devices are completely sealed, they might be secretly waterproof or water resistant to be exact. EverythingApplePro has put these devices alongside the latest iPhone which is the iPhone 6 Plus to a water test, and the results are shocking! Watch the video below and see these devices take the Water Test!

Note that after the video was over the Samsung devices have been placed in silica kitty litter (to take the water and moisture out) and still no response. And the iPhone is still alive and fully functional!

So the iPhone 6 Plus is secretly Water resistant! unlike the new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus!

Samsung S6 Edge Plus and Note 5 likely to be announced at the Unpacked event on August 13 (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Gone are the days when Samsung was capable of keeping its wares under covers until the big reveal. The Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus have been leaking profusely and now ongoing inside info purveyor Evan Blass just opened the tap a little more.

@evleaks published what appear to be press images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, along with some of the key specifications of the S Pen-sporting device.

The images don’t reveal anything we haven’t seen in various leaks and renders before, though there’s one inconsistency that cast a shade of doubt over their accuracy: the capacitive keys on the Note 5 appear to be oversized, though that’s likely just a graphical error.

Moving on to a tweet that @evleaks put out just minutes ago, specs of the Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920) allegedly include an Exynos 7420 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5.66-inch 2560×1440 display, a 16MP rear camera (likely featuring the ISOCELL sensor that Samsung unveiled earlier this week), a 5MP front camera (probably wide angle), Android 5.1.1 and no microSD card.

Those who are familiar with Samsung’s mobile strategy know that the company likes to announce important devices during events called Galaxy Unpacked. Well, Samsung has just confirmed that a new Unpacked event will take place on August 13 in New York City.

While Samsung doesn’t say exactly what it’s going to show us on that day, rumors have it that August 13 will be the announcement date of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

The simple image that Samsung is using as an invitation to the event – seen at the top of the post – suggests that we’re going to see a handset with a curved display (obviously, this should be the S6 Edge Plus). The image’s geometry reminds us of the teaser photos that the company used earlier this year before officially unveiling the Galaxy S6 edge.

Both the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5 are expected to feature 5.7-inch displays with 1440 x 2560 pixels (Quad HD), 16 MP rear cameras, 4 GB of RAM, and Exynos 7420 processors. Only the S6 Edge Plus will sport a curved screen, while the Note 5 should have the advantage of featuring an S Pen stylus.

Like many other announcements lately, the new Galaxy Unpacked event is going to be livestreamed, so anyone will be able to see what Samsung is announcing in real time.

Here’s the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, coming on August 12 with an Auto-Eject S Pen?

galaxy-note-5-case-s-penToday a Galaxy Note 5 case from Ringke has caught our eye which raises a very important question about the S Pen. Note that  Samsung is going to announce the Galaxy Note 5 on August 12 instead of waiting till IFA 2015 in September.

The S Pen has always been a staple on the Galaxy Note lineup and Samsung is sticking with it this time around as well however it appears to have changed the way it’s ejected. Previously you would just push it out using your nail but in all renders of the device we have seen so far the S Pen appears to sit flushed with the frame thus making it impossible to eject it using that method.

Is Samsung going with a push-to-release mechanism for the Galaxy Note 5 or will the S Pen be able to auto-eject? Lets not forget that Samsung does have a patent on auto-eject technology for the S Pen which would not only make things easier but would look certainly look cool.
